What is the Talent Search?
In the Baylor Talent Identification Program (Baylor TIP) Talent Search, students who are top academic performers take Baylor TIP's above-level testing between September and January and are admitted to programming based on their results. Fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students will take the IAR 8/9 exam. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will take the IAR exam. Admitted students then enter the Talent Development Phase, where they begin participating in programming that allows them to develop their expertise in areas of personalized talents and strengths, including the arts, business, humanities, social sciences, and STEM.
Seventh-grade students who score exceptionally well on the IAR will be invited to celebrate their achievement with us at a Baylor TIP Recognition Ceremony in the spring. In addition, they will have access to specialized summer programs we offer through our Baylor TIP Academy for students in grades 8-12. Seventh-grade students who wish to be considered for the awards ceremony in the spring must complete their testing by February 28, 2025.
