Em Ramser, M.A., M.A.T.
Baylor TIP Assistant Director Talent Development Advisor
Em Ramser serves as a Curriculum Developer, Instructor, and Talent Development Advisor for TIP. She previously worked with Duke TIP as both an instructor and course developer, and she has several years of experience teaching gifted, advanced, and STEM students in both public and private schools in DFW. She was awarded the 2023 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas and the 2022 TWU Young Alumni Award for her work in developing public school GT writing and research curricula. Em holds a B.A. in English and B.A. in Creative Writing from Salem College and earned both an M.A.T. in teaching English and an M.A. in English from Texas Woman's University. As a part of her Master's work, Em developed public scholarship projects, including a public-facing website for the M.A. thesis that explores the history of blackout poetry. For this work, Em was awarded the 2022 Nontraditional Thesis Award from the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools. Her knowledge of and belief in the importance of public scholarship and teaching students to be writers and professionals even as young people is integral to how she teaches and designs curricula. She is certified to teach both English and Journalism.
