Programming opportunities are based on the student’s test score, in addition to other factors used to identify potential.
For students in Grades 4–5, there are three distinctions:
- Participant: tested and met the minimum qualification to participate in programs
- Rising Star: tested and scored in the top 50% of participants
- Top Performer: tested and scored in the top 25% of participants
For students in Grades 7–8, there are four distinctions:
- Participant: tested and met the minimum qualification to participate in programs
- Scholar: tested and scored in the top 50% of participants
- Green Scholar: tested and scored in the top 25% of participants
- Gold Scholar: tested and scored in the top 10% of participants
Students will be offered progressive learning opportunities that range from enrichment courses/opportunities to accelerated courses/opportunities. Students who score in the top 10%, for example, would be offered programming options that differ from students who score at the 50th percentile. This allows us to help all students move toward their true potential. Programming will focus on five domains: STEM, humanities, arts, social sciences, and business.
